A meeting of the Shrines Committee of the Evacuee Trust Properties Board (ETPB) Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Government of Pakistan was held under the chairmanship of Sohail Ahmed Raza, Director of Interfaith Relations Minhaj University Lahore and Minhaj-ul-Quran International Pakistan. The meeting was attended by other members of the committee.

The meeting discussed proposals for the maintenance, renovation and construction of all Hindu temples in Pakistan. Similarly, there was a detailed discussion on an effective plan of action for the decoration and renovation of Sikh gurdwaras.

A detailed review was also conducted to provide all kinds of facilities to Hindus and Sikhs coming from other countries.

A large sum of money was approved for the renovation of the following Hindu community's historical places of worship:

· Katas Raj Mandir Chakwal

· Sadhu Bela Mandir Sukkur

· Krishna Mandir Rawalpindi

· Shri Krishna Mandir Lahore

· Parlad Puri Mandir Multan

· Hinglaj Mandir Balochistan

Similarly, budget was approved for the maintenance of the following gurdwaras and providing all facilities to the visiting guests:

· Gurdwara Panja Sahib Hassan Abdal

· Gurdwara Dera Sahib Lahore

· Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib

· Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur

· Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Shakhupura.

The head of the committee, Sohail Ahmed Raza, said that all religious minorities in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan have complete religious freedom and it is the responsibility of the state to ensure the protection of the life, property and places of worship of its religious minorities.

“We have been serving them considering it our national and religious duty,” he said.

The meeting was attended by other members of the committee, including Chairman of Pakistan Hindu Mandir Management Committee Shri Krishan Sharma, Senior Member of Pakistan Hindu Council Dr. Hari Lal Bhagia, Senior Member of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Sardar Bhagat Singh, Sardar Karpa Singh from Gurdwara Janam Asthan Nankana Sahib, Senior Member of Pakistan Sikh Community Sardar Partap Singh and Sajjada Nashin of Pir of Manki Sharif, Nowshera Sahibzada Tayyab Amin Advocate.
